Configuration of Business mail on Outlook 2007 (Hosted Exchange 2007 Platform).
To be able to use all functionality of the Exchange solution it is required that you have MS Windows XP with Service Pack 2 and Outlook 2007.
How to set it up:
- Go to your control panel on your computer, make sure you are in ”Classic view” rather than “Category view”.
- Go to “Mail”.
- Go to “Email Accounts”.
- If you have an existing Exchange account, you can edit it by choosing “Change”. If not, choose “New”.
- This will open the screen below. Tick the option “Manually configure server settings or additional server types” and press “Next”.
- Choose ”Microsoft Exchange” as shown below.
- Type in ”exvs01” as the Microsoft Exchange Server. Tick the ”Use cached Exchange Mode” option.
- Type in your username (what is before the “@” in your e-mail address) .
- Click on “More settings”.
If you get the message “The action cannot be completed. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action” please follow the following steps: (Otherwise go to step 10.)
- Press "OK" in the error window.
- Press "Cancel" in the "Microsoft Exchange" window, the settings should now appear.
- Go to the ”Connection” tab as shown below.
- Tick the option “Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP”.
- Click on “Exchange Proxy settings”.
- Type in ”exchange.active24.com” as shown below.
- Choose “Basic Authentication” then press “OK”.
- You will now be back in the “Microsoft Exchange” window. Press “Apply” then “OK” to save the settings. If you get prompted to connect to the internet please check the following points: (Otherwise go to step 16.)
- Check that you have entered the correct settings.
- Try re-creating the email address in the MyAccount
- If you have more than one profiles for outlook, go to “control panel” then “mail” and “show profiles”, choose the option “Prompt for profile to be used” under “When starting Microsoft Office Outlook, Use this profile”. You then have to go back to step 1 in the configuration process and start over.
- Now you will be back in the “Add E-Mail account” window. Press the “Check name” button.
- The window shown below will appear. Type in your username and password. Your username in this instance is the email address your are setting up.
- When the connection to the exchange server is established you will see your username underlined.
